2ND ANNUAL ROOT BEER MILE

APPROXIMATELY 492 ROOT BEERS CONSUMED FOR 2018.

Race: The root beer mile will be hosted at Memorial Stadium in Midland, TX. This race will be held on May 19, 2018 and will start at 10am. With your registration fee you receive your 4 root beers that you must finish in order to complete the root beer mile challenge, you receive a tri-blend shirt, and if you just happen to have a strong stomach and quick feet - a chance for age division placement! This is an official chip-timed event.
Rules: At the start of the race each participant must drink and finish an entire root beer in order to start their first lap around the track. Prior to starting the second lap each participant will be given a second root beer and they must also drink and finish this root beer before beginning their next lap. This will repeat until a participant drinks their fourth and final root beer, and then completes their final lap around the track (one mile total).
Benefiting: All proceeds of this race will be given to the John Thomas Butler scholarship fund to help support local high school students attending college. Local high school students are eligible for this academic scholarship when they attend a college or university.

Root beers will be provided upon entry to race. In order to be an official finisher of the race it is required that you drink all 4 root beers and complete a one mile distance (4 laps within Memorial).
Of course, there will be PLENTY of trash cans along the way.
Age divisions: -14, FRESHMAN (15), SOPHOMORE (16), JUNIOR (17), SENIOR (18), 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
Top three in each category will receive a placement medal
